June Square Foot Gardening Update - Pt 2

From a set of 12 white cabbages for 10pence nearly dead at B&Q, to now the cabbages that ate New York! Wow, we had no idea that they would grow so big (and are still growing bigger every day). We frequently are taking off the outside leaves now and eating them as 'greens' as they are taking over the squares of other veg and not allowing them to get enough light. Next year we'll know better but they are starting to form little hearts now.
On the other side of the cabbages are asparagus, leeks and rhubarb. We expect the rhubarb and the asparagus to settle in and stay put in these squares for a long time.
The greenhouse tomatoes......well they're tall! They are just flowering now. I think I should have pruned the bottom 'suckers' and things earlier than I did but there you go.
My little raspberry and blackberry bushes are doing nicely. The raspberry has flowered some and there are little raspberries growing now! I'm very excited.
However, I am really excited about the pumpkin plant growing here in the middle! Wowsers, there were 3 flowers at the bottom so I am assuming 3 pumpkins may start to grow (I know never assume....blah blah) but we'll see won't we? The cool thing is I am actually growing pumpkins, squashes and guords straight up as opposed to horizontally. The galvanised wire is actually working holding them up.

Hope you have enjoyed the pics. Every month, for my sake and for anyone elses I like to photograph the growth of our vegetables as this is our first year and we hope to learn from our mistakes and improve year on year. See more at the end of July!

Your garden looks very productive and pleasing to the eye at the same time. I just popped over from Rhonda Jean's blog and will be back to look around.
